Red River Military School

Basic Training in the military is sometimes referred to as a Boot Camp. Our Basic Training is patterned after Military Basic Training only adapted for Struggling Teens and their needs. Our Basic Training is not really a Boot Camp but it does provide the good parts or the benefits of a Boot Camp. Our Basic Training is designed to be a terrific low-cost, high-impact intervention for Teens that are headed in the wrong Direction. Intensive Military Drills several times a day addresses the students' problems of defiance, disrespect, and lack of motivation head on as it requires them to follow rules, march in conformity, show respect, and learn to immediately obey orders.

This is then practiced again and again several times a day until it becomes second nature. In just a few weeks, students can develop new habits, self-confidence, discipline, and pride in their ability to accomplish tasks.

For many it is the first time in months they are finding success and accomplishment with newly developed attitudes and behaviors. This becomes reinforcing and the Teen starts wanting to do the right thing not because anyone else wants them to do it but because they want to do it having truly experienced the benefits of doing the right thing for themselves.

Flexibility

Basic Training provides an effective intervention at a fraction of the cost of other options.
Basic Training provides Teens immediate help giving parents the time and space to make good long term decisions for their child.
Home Follow-Up Services are available to assist students who are ready to return home after Basic Training.
If students are not ready to return home, they can usually continue month to month at the Red River Military School, at a discounted tuition, with no interruption of service. Students can also be transferred to any long term facility of the parent's choice and will usually go there much better prepared to succeed.
Basic Training allows parents to immediately get their Teen in a safe, healthy, productive environment. This allows parents to decide what to do ongoing without any pressure or high cost commitment.
