Basic Training in the military is sometimes referred to as a Boot Camp. Our Basic Training is not actually a Boot Camp but it does provide the good parts or the benefits of a Boot Camp. Our Basic Training is designed to be a terrific low-cost, high-impact intervention for Teens that are headed in the wrong Direction.

Philosophy

The philosophy behind a quality intervention is to face the challenges that youth are having head on. Military excercise drills several times a day are a critical part of daily routine, However, Red River Basic training goes way beyond this and everything is designed to replace Teen's inappropriate attitudes and behaviors with good productive ones. Students soon find a measure of satisfaction and accomplishment in the ability to follow instructions, obey orders, and complete objectives. They begin to understand the importance of being apart of a team, a group or something greater than just their own individual need and wants. This helps the student realize the value of being a positive member of their own family.

Basic Training is designed to have the impact of a Boot Camp. However, Since the students are also a part of a Boarding School, Red River's Basic Training Program follows national boarding school guidelines for appropriate interaction with students. This means students are always treated with proper respect and are not yelled at, swore at, or treated with disrespect as done in many actual Military Boot Camps. This allows Our Basic Training Program to provide the benefits of a Boot Camp without any downsides.
