Benefits
Almost all Teen Behavior or Misbehavior is a result of a conditioned response.
This means the Teen usually responds in ways they are accustomed to, for example;
When Teens generally obey their parents and follow home rules or standards it is because doing so has become a conditioned response for them to do that.
When Teens are generally defiant or disrespectful to parents and oppositional to home rules and standards, this becomes a habit or conditioned response for those teens.
The value of a Boot Camp is it takes Teens who are generally disrespectful or apathetic to authority/rules and starts creating a new conditioned response for them.
This is done by the student participating in 4 intense military exercise drills each day where they start learning to follow orders, march in conformity, respect authority, and comply with rules and standards.
Since this is done several times a day and practiced over and over again, a new conditioned response is developed. Within a few weeks this new conditioned response becomes second nature or habit for the student. The student returns home with new habits, giving them and their parents a new lease on Life.
Practice makes perfect
Every skill takes practice, practice, and more practice!!
Whether playing piano, learning to read, or developing a talent.
All good things are developed with practice! This is especially true with developing good behavior.
Good behavior when practiced over and over again becomes habit!!!
The whole objective of Red River Basic Training is to practice appropriate behaviors over and over again until they become second nature or habit!!
